Unsuspecting 20 Year Old Purchases A Lottery Ticket At 7-11, He Soon Finds Out That He Won $451 Million Dollars
A twenty year-old man in Florida has claimed a massive lottery jackpot worth $451,000,000 dollars.
Shane Missler, who is 20 years old, will be receiving roughly $282 million dollars in the form of a one-time payment. It has been estimated that he will be able to keep $211.4 million dollars after paying income taxes on the money.
According to the lottery, the ticket came from a 7-Eleven convenience store. Missler claims he had “a feeling” that he was going to win when he bought his ticket.
“I’m only 20, but I hope to use [the winnings] to pursue a variety of passions, help my family and do some good for humanity,” said Missler.
Since winning the money, he has retired from his job, which was at a firm that does background screening.
“Although I’m young, I’ve had a crash course this week in financial management and I feel so fortunate to have this incredible wealth and team behind me,” said Missler.
“I intend to take care of my family, have some fun along the way and cement a path for financial success so that I can leave a legacy far into the future,” Missler continued.
It appears that Missler is being rational and humble after winning the jackpot.
“Thank you everyone for the positive thoughts. This is only the beginning. I am truly grateful and most appreciative,” he tweeted several days after winning.
Missler’s high school soccer coach Larry Thornton said that he was a mature player on the team and a leader.
“He’s going to find out what he needs to do and how he’s going to do it. I can’t see this going off the rails for somebody like him,” said Thornton.
Missler plans on moving out of the Tampa Bay area now that he has enough money to live wherever his heart desires.
