Looking For An Easy Weekday Meal? Look No Further As This Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Will Have Your Family Asking For Seconds
Pulled pork is a favorite for many families and it’s super easy to make. This recipe is effortless and a great midweek dinner with plenty of portions to feed your hungry family.
It would go well with a dinner roll or a baguette of French bread.
Here’s what you will need:
- 1 boneless pork butt (roughly 4.5-5.5lbs)
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 4 jalapeños sliced
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 large onion, coarsely chopped
- 1 package Achiote Roja (alternatively you could just make your own spice. It’s annatto, Mexican oregano, garlic, salt)
- Salt to taste
- 1 1/2 tomatillos
Steps:
Place all ingredients except tomatillos in your crock pot. Make sure everything is evenly distributed.

Spread the tomatillos on top.

Cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours. You want the pork to be falling apart. When it’s done, remove the meat.
Scoop out half the juice. Take two forks and pull them apart from each other, shredding the pork. Return the meat to the slow cooker. If the meat is too dry, simply add some of the juice that was taken aside.
Enjoy. You can make pulled pork sandwiches or serve with rice.
